El presente trabajo se desarrolla en el marco del proyecto de investigación: Representaciones Sociales y Práctica Profesional de Equipos Interdisciplinarios del Programa de Salud Escolar del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. La metodología utilizada es cualitativa, de alcance exploratorio descriptivo de corte transversal. El objetivo es, a partir del material relevado mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas y carta asociativa, acceder a las representaciones sociales de los profesionales del Programa de Salud Escolar e identificar como las mismas tiñen su práctica. Las ideas de éstos respecto a su tarea presentan diversas características, entre ellas la tensión entre la práctica asistencial y las acciones orientadas a la prevención de enfermedades y promoción de la salud. Considerando que las representaciones sociales, presentan un sistema doble donde se conjuga un núcleo central y un sistema periférico encargado de procesar ajustes y justificaciones, las condiciones socio-económicas y políticas actuales, reclamarían ajustes en las prácticas y nuevas normativas organizacionales, cuyo impacto en los elementos periféricos podrían constituirse en la base de posibles cambios a nivel de las representaciones sociales. Palabras clave Representaciones Salud Prácticas Cambio ABSTRACT SOME INSIGHTS INTO THE REPRESENTATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE OF THE INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAMS INVOLVED IN THE SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME OF THE GOVERNMENT OF BUENOS AIRES CITY This paper has been developed within the framework of the research project entitled: Social Representations and Professional Practice of the Interdisciplinary Teams involved in the School Health Programme of the Government of Buenos Aires City. A qualitative methodology was used, with a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive scope. The objective was to gain access to the social representations of the professionals involved in the School Health Programme and to establish how those representations influence their practice, on the basis of material derived from semistructured interviews and associative chart. The professionals’ ideas about their work show various characteristics, one of which is the tension existing between providing assistance and actions aimed at illness prevention and health promotion. Taking into account that social representations present a double system combining a central nucleus and a peripheral system in charge of processing adjustments and justifications, current socio-economic and political circumstances would require adjustments in practices and new organisational regulations the impact of which on the peripheral elements could become the basis for possible changes in social representations.
