Por meio da leitura e da escrita, o homem pode tornar-se um ser global, simbólico, social, um cidadão inserido na civilização moderna, com o domínio de um dos mais significativos meios de comunicação humana.No entanto a dificuldade de entender o como se dá o processo de aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita faz com que ainda não se tenha um meio plenamente eficiente no seu desenvolvimento e o resultado é um numero significativo de crianças e jovens que não conseguem aprender a ler e escrever.O objetivo deste trabalho foi “Verificar as variáveis que interferem no processo de aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita, em pacientes da clinica de psicopedagogia que freqüentam a 4ª série e não estão na base alfabética”.A metodologia utilizada foi o estudo de caso, em razão da natureza do objeto analisado.Nesta pesquisa foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos:pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa documental, observação,sondagem da escrita, além de entrevistas com professores,pais e alunos.Os dados foram significativos para alternativas de intervenção junto a cada paciente. No but the difficulty of understanding how it gives the learning process of reading and writing means that it has not yet an efficient fully in its development and result in a significant number of children and young people who can not learn to read and writing. The objective of this work was “Check the variables that interfere in the learning process of reading and writing, in patients of the clinic Psicopedagogia attending the 4th grade and are not in alphabetical basis. “The methodology used was a case study, due to the nature of the object examined. In this research we used the following instruments: literature, documentary research, observation, survey of writing, and interviews with teachers, parents and student.
