El presente trabajo es un recorte del análisis documental resultante de un trabajo de revisión bibliográfica durante 2019 cuyo objetivo fue conocer la relación entre el apoyo social percibido y calidad de vida de cuidadores de adultos dependientes por secuela de enfermedad crónica. Con el aumento de incidencia de enfermedades crónicas que pueden dejar secuelas discapacitantes en las personas, quienes las padecen pueden depender de otro para realizar sus actividades diarias y el cuidado de sí mismo. Usualmente quien asume este rol es un familiar cercano generando un impacto en su vida cotidiana con una carga que puede afectar negativamente su salud y bienestar. Durante los últimos años ha habido en la literatura sugerencias de que el apoyo social actúa como moderador de la carga del cuidado. Se realizó entonces, una búsqueda en bases de datos científicas, LILACS y Google académico, donde se recabaron doce artículos sometidos a posterior análisis y categorización. Se concluye que existe una correlación significativa entre el apoyo social percibido por los cuidadores y su bienestar y calidad de vida. Siendo necesario mejorar la atención de las necesidades de esta población. Palabras clave Cuidador familiar - Apoyo social - Enfermedad crónica - Calidad de vida ABSTRACT INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL SUPPORT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF DEPENDENT ADULT CAREGIVERS BY CHRONIC DISEASE SEQUEL This work is a cut of the documentary analysis resulting from a bibliographic review work during 2019 whose objective was to know the relationship between perceived social support and quality of life of caregivers of dependent adults due to the sequela of chronic disease. With the increasing incidence of chronic diseases that can leave disabling sequelae in people, those who suffer from them can depend on others to carry out their daily activities and take care of themselves. Usually the person who assumes this role is a close family member generating an impact on their daily life with a burden that can negatively affect their health and well-being. Over the past few years there have been suggestions in the literature that social support acts as a moderator of the burden of care. A research was then carried out in scientific databases, LILACS and Google academic, where twelve articles were collected, subject to subsequent analysis and categorization. It is concluded that there is a significant correlation between the social support perceived by the caregivers and their well-being and quality of life.
