Resumen Lo terapéutico puede pensarse reñido con el psicoanálisis a pesar de que en un siglo de existencia ha mostrado y demostrado no desinteresarse del sufrimiento. Esta idea ha entrado sin lugar a dudas en la cultura con la contribución de distintos factores, no siendo ajenos a estas consecuencias los propios psicoanalistas, que han mirado con recelo y desconfianza la dimensión terapéutica de los análisis. Como así también por las interpretaciones que se han dado a los desarrollos de Freud y luego de Lacan sobre el tema. Lecturas que precipitaron el surgimiento, a partir de los años 50, de diferentes psicoterapias con la aspiración de superar al psicoanálisis en eficacia. En su desarrollo, teorización y práctica se han apropiado del significante terapéutico, quedando también para el Otro social como lo propio de sus fines en desmedro de lo que el psicoanálisis con su práctica podía producir. El presente trabajo se propone un recorrido por el concepto de eficacia terapéutica, de cura y de síntoma -tal como los entiende el psicoanálisis- para dar cuenta de las consecuencias que se deducen de esta articulación e interrogar bajo que designación reconoce su especificidad en la práctica analítica. Resumen en Inglés Summary The therapeutic arena can be thought as to be in a quarrel with psychoanalysis, even though in a century of existence psychoanalysis has shown and demonstrated not to be indifferent about suffering. This idea has entered the culture without any doubts with the contribution of different factors. Even the psychoanalysts are not unaware of these consequences: they have looked with suspicion and distrust the therapeutic dimension of the analyses. Likewise, the interpretations given to Freud's and Lacan´s developments on the topic are also involved. Since the '50s, these interpretations precipitated the emergence of different psychotherapies, which had the aspiration of surpassing psychoanalysis in its effectiveness. In the development of these different psychotherapies, theorization and practice have appropriated the significant "therapeutic", resting also the therapeutic aspect for the social Other as the specific side of their goals, despising whatever psychoanalysis with its practice could produce. The present work intends a journey through the concepts of therapeutic effectiveness, cure and symptom - just as psychoanalysis understands them to account for the consequences that are deduced from this articulation and to interrogate under which designation it recognizes its specificity in the analytic practice.
