Este trabajo fue realizado como parte del Proyecto de Investigación PROICO 22/H807 de la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis. En él, se delinean conceptos de duro alcance en la teoría psicoanalítica: goce, cuerpo, narcisismo, síntoma y toxicomanías. El goce es la relación del ser parlante con su cuerpo, es la consecuencia del encuentro entre el significante y un cuerpo. Pero, el psicoanálisis, ¿a qué llama cuerpo? Plantear que el cuerpo es una construcción, viene a dar cuenta de que no se nace con un cuerpo, es decir que el mismo, no está dado a priori, sino que se construye, que es el resultado de una operación. Constitución que está íntimamente relacionada con el narcisismo. Es importante hacer alusión de que hay afecciones del narcisismo. Allí, y entre tantas otras, podemos situar a las llamadas toxicomanías, con su particular modo de operatoria. Una vía que conduce al abordaje de la singularidad de cada sujeto, es la noción de síntoma. Síntoma como la singularidad de goce de cada sujeto. El toxicómano resulta prisionero de una paradoja mortífera, la imposibilidad de satisfacción y el duelo imposible por la pérdida del objeto.
