La función paterna y el lugar del Edipo, no sólo fueron cuestiones a las que Lacan tuvo que volver una y otra vez para rectificar su posición, sino que además sus dichos se han hecho objeto de múltiples interpretaciones. Tomamos a la obra de Lacan, no tanto como un progreso, sino como un discurso que se resignifica una y otra vez. A partir de las últimas formalizaciones, intentamos situar lo que se considera el “más allá”, para intentar precisar el lugar definitivo que Lacan le dará al Edipo y a la función paterna en psicoanálisis; cuestión que a la vez, requiere de un análisis de la particularidad de los conceptos lacanianos.
