En el marco del Programa de Psicología Institucional de la Secretaría de Extensión, Cultura y Bienestar Universitario de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Buenos Aires venimos acompañando a diferentes organizaciones que, en la actualidad, se ven desprestigiadas en sus funciones desde el gobierno. En esta ocasión nos interesa reflexionar sobre la particular producción sintomatológica en el cruce entre desfinanciamiento y deslegitimación del sector público. ¿Cómo se habita lo público en el escenario social actual? La persistencia y la insistencia en instalar en lo social el desprestigio, más aún, el desprecio por el sector público y sus trabajadores es la materialización del modo cruel con que se ejerce la violencia desde el poder político. Los integrantes de estas organizaciones tienen que lidiar con este nuevo padecimiento que no responde ni al fenómeno institucional ni al tipo de institución de la que se forme parte; sino que es consecuencia del trato recibido por el metacampo del Estado. Surge así desánimo, enojo, miedo, incertidumbre. La apuesta es crear condiciones para producir, al decir de Lewkowicz, operaciones del hacerse responsable: habitar, inventar, afirmar. Palabras clave Efectos subjetivos - Desprestigio - Desfinanciamiento - Psico- logía institucional ABSTRACT SUBJECTIVE EFFECTS OF DISCREDIT IN PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS: AN APPROACH FROM INSTITUTIONAL PSYCHOLOGY As part of the Institutional Psychology Program within the Department of Outreach, Culture, and University Wellbeing of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires, we have been working alongside various organizations that are currently being discredited in their roles by the national government. In this presentation, we aim to reflect on the particular forms of symptom production that arise from the intersection of defunding and delegitimization of the public sector. How is the public sphere inhabited in the current social context? The persistence and insistence on discrediting—and even expressing contempt for—the public sector and its workers constitutes a cruel exercise of violence enacted by political power. Members of these organizations must now contend with a new kind of suffering that is not rooted in the institutional phenomenon itself, nor in the specific type of institution involved, but rather in the treatment received from the overarching field of the State. This results in discouragement, anger, fear, and uncertainty. Our aim is to create the conditions for what Lewkowicz calls “operations of becoming responsible”: to inhabit, to invent, to affirm.
