Este trabajo aborda la masacre ocurrida en la Comisaría 1ª de Pergamino en marzo de 2017, donde siete jóvenes murieron bajo custodia estatal, desde una perspectiva crítica de los derechos humanos. Se propone comprender qué función social cumplen las víctimas de este hecho, situándolas como figuras centrales en la denuncia de prácticas abusivas del poder punitivo. Mediante la revisión teórica, documental y de entrevistas, se abordan cuatro conceptos clave: derechos humanos, prejuicios, tipos de víctima y función social de las víctimas. Se analiza cómo el discurso social y mediático jerarquiza el sufrimiento según el grado de “merecimiento” adjudicado a las víctimas, lo que condiciona su visibilidad y acceso a la justicia. Así, se discute el lugar de las víctimas no ideales en el entramado social, planteando que, lejos de ser solo destinatarias de reparación, pueden encarnar una potencia política transformadora. Se destaca el rol activo de los familiares, quienes sostienen el reclamo por justicia y construyen memoria frente a resistencias institucionales. El trabajo se inscribe en una psicología comprometida con los derechos humanos, que no busca explicar el dolor desde la neutralidad, sino intervenir desde un posicionamiento ético-político centrado en el acompañamiento, la denuncia y la visibilización de violencias estructurales. Palabras clave Derechos humanos - Violencia institucional - Prejuicios - Memoria - Víctimas ABSTRACT THE SOCIAL ROLE OF VICTIMS IN CASES OF INSTITUTIONAL VIOLENCE: A HUMAN RIGHTS PERSPECTIVE ON THE PERGAMINO CASE This paper adresses from a critical human rights perspective the massacre that occurred at the 1st. Police Station in Pergamino in March 2017, where seven people died in state custody. It seeks to understand the social role of the victims of this crime, situating them as starring figures in denouncing abusive practices of authorities. Through a theoretical, documentary and interview reviews, four key concepts are addressed: human rights, prejudice, types of victims and their social role. It analyzes the way social and media discourse prioritizes suffering according to the degree of “deservingness” people attributes to the victims, and how it conditions their visibility and access to real justice. It thus discusses the place of non-ideal victims in the social fabric, suggesting that -far from being merely recipients of reparations, they can embody transformative political power. It highlights the active role of family members of the victims, who sustain the claim for justice and build memory facing institutional resistance. This essay is related to a psychology commited to human rights, trying not to explain the pain from neutrality, but rather to intervene from an ethical and political position focused on accompaniment, denunciation and the visibility of structural violence.
