El objetivo del presente trabajo consiste en precisar el papel que el Dr. Paul Emily Flechsig ha jugado en el comienzo del delirio del Presidente Daniel Paul Schreber. Si bien en su escrito de 1911 “Observaciones psicoanalíticas sobre un caso de paranoia (<>) autobiográficamente descripto (caso <>)” Sigmund Freud no se ha referido sobre esta cuestión, pero ha sentado las bases para pensar la relación transferencial que se estableció entre el Dr. Flechsig y Schreber. El recorrido que tomará el presente escrito partirá desde una concepción históri-ca del vínculo entre el Dr. Flechsig y Schreber, hacia la puntualización de la especi-ficidad de la relación transferencial y la extracción de las consecuencias clínicas de ésta, en tanto herramienta clínica fundamental en los tratamientos posibles de las psicosis. En este sentido, uno de los interrogantes que orienta el devenir del trabajo intentará abordar la posición del analista en estos cuadros.
