Forma parte del proyecto de Investigación “Reforma en salud en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires: Modificaciones en las representaciones y prácticas de trabajadores y usuarios NBI del sector” (Directora Lic. Alicia Stolkiner) . El objetivo consiste en describir las representaciones de mujeres pobres del AMBA en relación a la gratuidad de la atención en hospitales estatales, como parte de una investigación más amplia sobre representaciones de derecho a la atención de la salud. Metodología: Entrevistas semiestructuradas (15) en base a un muestreo teórico. Conclusiones: las representaciones rastreadas sobre la gratuidad de la atención, entendida como no arancelamiento de los hospitales estatales se acercan conceptualmente a definiciones que niegan la existencia del derecho a la atención de la Salud y ubican la atención para pobres como “deber de beneficencia”. También expresan ideas de derecho a la salud restringido para poblaciones sin recursos. Estas representaciones serian congruentes con lo que expresan los Organismos Internacionales que han participado de la Reforma Sanitaria mas que con lo que emana de la Constitución Nacional acerca de los Derechos Humanos. It is framed from the investigation project titled: "Reform in Health care Services of Buenos Aires: changes in the representations and practices of workers and poor users of the sector” (Director Lic. Stolkiner). The objective is to describe and analyze the representations of poor women of the AMBA in relation with the free attention in public hospitals. It is a part of a research that analizes the representations of right to health assistance in poor population. Methodology: semi structured Interviews (15) applied to women selected by theoretic sampling. Conclusions: The social representations about free attention in state hospitals are near to philosophical currents that deny the health attention as a right. They are close to the idea to free health attention as a “charity duty”. They also expressed ideas about restriction of health rights for poor populations. This representations are in the same way that the discourses of the International Agencies that had influenced in the Health Reform in Argentina (WMF/WB).
