El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar los patrones de desorganización de las praxias en pacientes con demencias en el marco del modelo de Rothi Ochipa y Heilman (1991,1997) (1)y las modificaciones de Cubelli y col. (2000)(2) y su relación con la sobrecarga del cuidador. Para ello se procederá a administrar la batería de evaluación cognitiva de las apraxias(Politis & Margulis,1997,2000) (3) en los pacientes con diagnóstico de demencia (de acuerdo a los criterios del DSMIV) además se les administrará a los cuidadores la escala de AVD(4), como así también la Escala de Sobrecarga del cuidador (5). Ello nos permitirá conocer con mayor profundidad como se desorganiza esta función en el deterioro cognitivo y como repercuten estas alteraciones en las actividades cotidianas de estos pacientes y que grado de discapacidad generan. Esto además nos permitirá estudiar cuanto influye dichas alteraciones en la sobrecarga (stress) del cuidador de este tipo de pacientes. Por último este conocimiento también puede ser de gran valor para adaptar las condiciones físicas del medio en el que se desenvuelven estos pacientes a los déficit apráxicos de los mismos, permitiéndoles una mejor calidad de vida. Resumen en Inglés The object of present investigation is study the patterns of disorganization of the praxias in patients with dementia, using the model of Rothi Ochipa and Heilman (1991,1997) (1) and the modifications of Cubelli and collaborators (2000) (2) and their relationship with the caregiver burden. With this purpose we will proceed to administrate the battery of cognitive evaluation of the apraxias (Politis & Margulis,1997,2000) (3) in the patients with a diagnostic of dementia (according to the approaches of the DSMIV) they will also be administered to the caregivers the scale of AVD(4), as well as the Scale of the caregiver burden(5).. It will allow us to know with more depth how this function is disorganized in the cognitive deterioration and how these alterations affect in the daily activities of these patients and what degree of incapacity they generate. This will also allow us to study the way that this alterations influences in the burden (stress) of the caregiver of this type of patients. Lastly, this knowledge can also be of great value to adapt the physical conditions of the context in which these patients live to the apraxic deficits of the same ones, allowing them a better quality of life.
