El presente trabajo es la presentación de un avance de un proyecto de investigación que indaga las representaciones que tienen los psicólogos egresados de la UBA acerca de su propia práctica profesional. En investigaciones anteriores, se ha concluido que la representación que tienen los psicólogos acerca de su práctica profesional, iguala la práctica del psicólogo a la práctica del psicoanalista que ejerce su clínica en un consultorio privado. Diversos datos, señalan que dicha representación se halla presente desde el comienzo de la carrera. En el presente trabajo, se realiza un recorte dentro de las distintas corrientes de las representaciones sociales, para justificar el abordaje metodológico que se utiliza en la investigación. Así mismo, se presenta una hipótesis de las posibles consecuencias en la representación del quehacer profesional del psicólogo, de un acontecimiento de la historia reciente del país –la Noche de los Bastones Largos. Para la realización del presente trabajo, se han utilizado datos secundarios (bibliografía afín, material de archivo y resultados de otras investigaciones) y como datos primarios, entrevistas realizadas por el investigador. Resumen en Inglés This project will present an advance regarding a research project that will investigate representations of psychologists that graduated from the UBA regarding their own professional practice. In previous investigations, it has been concluded that within representations that psychologists have with respect to their professional practice, the psychologist's practice is equated to that of the psychoanalyst in a clinical setting within a private office. Various data indicate that this representation is present from the beginning of university studies. In this project, a segment within various trends of social representation will be analyzed in order to justify the methodology used in the research. Additionally, this project will present a hypothesis regarding possible consequences in the representation of the professional task of the psychologist stemming from a recent event in the history of the country - the Night of the Long Canes (la Noche de los Bastones Largos). Secondary sources will include published material on the subject, archives, and results from other research investigations. Interviews conducted by the researcher will also be used.
