INTRODUCCIÓN Uno de los aspectos pragmáticos que suele verse afectados en los pacientes lesionados derechos es el del procesamiento de expresiones de lenguaje figurativo, evidenciando marcadas dificultades para comprender la polisemia que involucra significados metafóricos o no literales. OBJETIVOS: (a) analizar el rendimiento de un grupo de pacientes en una tarea que involucra procesamiento de significado metafórico (b) llevar a cabo un análisis cualitativo del patrón de errores. METODOLOGÍA Evaluamos 35 pacientes con la versión en español del Protocolo MEC (Joanette et. al., 2004; Ferreres et al., 2007). Analizamos los resultados de la tarea de interpretación de metáforas: (a) definición espontánea y (b) selección de opciones. RESULTADOS Un importante porcentaje de los pacientes evaluados revelaron dificultades para procesar metáforas encontrando: 1. Pacientes con interpretación espontánea adecuada del estimulo y dificultades para apartar la definición de sus propias experiencias o; 2. Pacientes con selecciones inadecuadas cuando tienen que elegir entre definiciones con aspectos literales del significado de la expresión. DISCUSIÓN Los lesionados derechos suelen presentar dificultades para interpretar significados no literales por la falla en la utilización contextual o cotextual durante el proceso de decodificación del sentido del discurso, provocando un impacto funcional y psicológico considerable en su comportamiento comunicacional. Patients with inadequate choices when they have to choose between definitions literal aspects of the meaning of the expression. DISCUSSION Infringed rights often have difficulty interpreting non-literal meanings for failure to use contextual or cotextual during decoding the meaning of the speech, causing considerable functional and psychological impact on their communication behavior.
