Los autores consideran al trabajo interdisciplinario y la colaboración orgánica entre los integrantes del Equipo de Salud Mental como factores que resultan relevantes para la determinación de la calidad de los servicios prestados. Desde una perspectiva de planificación estratégica, señalan el carácter relevante que tienen la producción y el uso de la información con que cuenta el sistema de salud sobre sus recursos humanos, materiales, tecnológicos y relacionales, y el carácter decisivo que éste tiene para el rediseño de sus prestaciones.Al mismo tiempo, analizan el papel fundamental que tiene el conocimiento epidemiológico, fenomenológico y geográfico-regional que se tiene sobre la demanda comunitaria en salud, y jerarquizan este problema como uno de los más relevantes en el que todo sistema estratégico de salud debería concentrar su reflexividad. Por último, observan que la Universidad también juega un papel fundamental en tanto que institución formadora de profesionales e investigadores -agentes capacitados para el relevamiento, análisis, operación y acción- en el campo complejo y multidimensional de la Salud Mental. PRELIMINARY ISSUES FOR THE STRATEGIC PLANNING OF HUMAN RESOURCES IN THE HEALTH FIELD The authors consider interdisciplinary work and organic cooperation among the members of the Mental Health Team to be relevant factors in the determination of the quality of the service provided. From the point of view of strategic planning, the authors point out the relevance of the production and utilisation of the information that the health system processes about its human resources; materials, both technological and relational; and the decisive character this has in the redesigning of its services. At the same time, the authors analyse the fundamental role that epidemiologic, phenomenologic and geographic-regional knowledge of the cummunity’s demand in the health field has, and they rank this as one of the most relevant problems on which every strategic system of health should concentrate its reflexivity. Lastly, the authors observe that the University also plays a fundamental part as an institution that trains professionals and researchers -agents qualified for research, analysis, operation and action- in the complex and multidimensional field of Mental Health.
