AND DIAGNOSIS IN FIRST STAGE OF THE PSYCHOANALYTIC TREATMENT The present work sets out three related objectives: 1) to define the symptom in psychoanalysis in its relation with the notion of knowledge (savoir, not connaissance) ; 2) to locate from that definition the properly analytical effects that take place during the first sections of the psychoanalytic treatment, in an attempt to distinguish them of other therapeutic effects (indiscernible of suggestion’s effects that the establishment of the transferencial link usually implies); 3) to inquiry starting in previous points the importance of the diagnosis for the treatment. This work is written within the framework of the research project P043 de UBACyT, that studies the feasibility and the difficulties of the diagnosis process in patients who consult in a situation of socioeconomic urgency in the Service of Clinic of Adults in the Avellaneda Seat of the University of Buenos Aires - in which the duration of the treatments usually is limited to a year at most -. The method consists on a tracking of the logical bases on which the diagnosis process is possible, being based on the bibliography that allow to defining the variables, and the casuistry given by freudian experience and treatment records of the Service Key words diagnosis symptom subject knowledge
