El presente trabajo aborda algunas de las consecuencias que se han generado por el despliegue del capitalismo y la tecnociencia durante los siglos XX y XXI en los usos y responsabilidades que tiene el sujeto contemporáneo sobre su cuerpo. Apartir de los debates que giran en torno a la eutanasia, el aborto, el uso de drogas, el cambio de sexo y la realización indiscriminada de cirugías estéticas, entre otros, resulta necesario indagar el estatuto y las dimensiones éticas del cuerpo en nuestra época. Frente a las insuficientes respuestas provenientes de la moral tradicional y de los derechos contemporáneos, en este trabajo intentaremos ubicar algunas posibilidades de abordar esta coyuntura dilemática. Palabras Clave cuerpo, ética, deber, derecho Abstract ETHICAL DIMENSIONS OF THE BODY IN THE CONTEMPORARY ERA The present work approaches some of the consequences that have been generated by the unfolding of the capitalism and the technoscience during the XX and XXI centuries in the uses and responsibilities that has the contemporary subject on his body. Starting from the debates that rotate around the euthanasia, the abortion, the use of drugs, the sex change and the indiscriminate realization of aesthetic surgeries, among other, are necessary to investigate the statute and the ethical dimensions of the body in our time. In front of the insufficient answers coming from the traditional morals and of the contemporary rights, in this work we will try to locate some possibilities to approach this dilemmatic joint.
