La revisión del alcance del concepto de cultura en psicología del desarrollo requiere reconstruir las definiciones del término dentro de las principales teorías psicológicas que abordan este problema de manera explícita. El propósito de esta ponencia es poner de manifiesto la originalidad de la concepción de cultura en la obra de Vigotsky, y algunos de sus continuadores. El interés teórico de Vigotsky se orientaba a la formación de la vida psíquica superior por la cultura. Vinculado de modo predominante- al significado de las palabras. Uno de sus continuadores, James Wertsch intenta repensar al lenguaje en tanto herramienta de internalización de la cultura. Apela a la obra de Bajtin para formular un enfoque que avance en la comprensión de la acción humana situada en contextos sociales, históricos y culturales. Michael Cole define la cultura como el medio específicamente humano, y para explicar la manera en que interactúan, natura-nurtura e individuo-sociedad introduce la noción de artefacto. Podemos concluir que estos autores, con sus propios matices, han sugerido que las herramientas semióticas y las actividades individuales forman parte de un sistema psicológico: el lenguaje o los artefactos se interiorizan en los individuos, pero mientras son utilizados por éstos en las interacciones sociales. Palabras clave Cultura Vigotsky Cole Wertsch ABSTRACT REACH AND PROBLEMS OF THE CONCEPT OF CULTURE IN THE DEVELOPMENT PSYCHOLOGY The revision of the reach of the culture concept in development psychology requires to rebuild the definitions of the term inside the main psychological theories that approach this problem in an explicit way. The purpose of this paper is to show the originality of the culture conception in the Vigotsky´works, and some of his continuators. The theoretical interest of Vigotsky was led to the formation of the psychological process by the culture. Linked in a predominant way to the meaning of the words. One of their continuators, James Wertsch attempts rethink to the language as long as tool of internalización of the culture. He follow the Bajtin´ work to formulate a focus that it advances in the understanding of the human action located in social, historical and cultural contexts. Michael Cole defines the culture like the means specifically human, and to explain the way in that interactions between, nature-nurture and individual-society. We can conclude that these authors, with their own shades have suggested that the semiótics tools and the individual activities are part of a psychological system: the internalitation of the language or the devices in the individuals, but while they are used in the social interactions.
