A partir de los cambios legislativos en materia de reconocimiento de derechos a personas trans en Argentina, nos vimos como docentes interpelados a reflexionar esta realidad en tanto temáticas que afectan la calidad de vida de las/os ciudadanas/os. En el marco del Proyecto de Investigación “Derechos Humanos, Control Social y Sectores Vulnerables” de la Facultad de Psicología, Universidad Nacional de San Luis, se trabajaron situaciones que afectan el ejercicio de derechos de quienes se ven vulnerados por su género, reconociendo para ello las voces de las/os directamente involucradas/os a partir de una metodología cualitativa.Este trabajo presenta resultados acerca de la construcción de identidad de género que mujeres trans entrevistadas manifiestan, relevando cómo, en su elaborar un género, logran una definición de “chica trans” como un acto político que las define con un nombre que incluyen en un orden social como un sello identitario que les da visibilidad y autoafirmación. Reconocen en su historia, prácticas que denuncian la influencia de una cultura heteronormativa que ha marcado limitaciones Asimismo y a pesar del espacio legal que hoy las legitima, restan acciones sociales que denuncian situaciones de igualdad, aún vacantes. Palabras clave Personas trans - Identidad - Investigación - Género ABSTRACT CONTRIBUTIONS TO UNDERSTANDING THE IDENTITY CONSTRUCTION OF TRANS WOMEN IN THE CITY OF SAN LUIS Starting from the legislative changes in the rights of trans people in Argentina, we were challenged to introduce this reality in the academic world, as professionals in this thematic that affects citizens quality of life of our medium. From this interest and within the framework of the research project “Human Rights, Social Control and Vulnerable Sectors” which belongs to Faculty of Psychology, National University of San Luis, we worked about the situations that affects the exercise of rights of who are discriminated by their gender, recognizing the voices of the people that are directly involved implementing a qualitative methodology.This paper presents the results of four trans women`s interview about the construction of gender identity, relieving how, in their elaboration of gender, achieve a definition of “trans girl” as a political act that defines a name included in a social order as an identity label that gives them visibility and self-assertion. They recognized in their lives, the practices that denounce the influence of a heteronormative culture that has marked limitations and in spite of the legal space that nowadays legitimizes social actions, remain denouncing situations of equality that are still vacant.
