Resumen
Pausing in the epistemological construction of Locke, which is based on the observation of phenomena and their correlations, the article points out that his method converges to the foundation of an empiricism that contains a rationalism which limits their relativism, which implies preeminence that his political theory assigns to the individual and what is private and the meaning of a concrete historical reality characterized by perfect equality and absolute freedom imposing the state of nature. Considering that this condition of existence is based on natural law, the transition to civilian status through the contract that establishes the political society does not converge but to ensure the natural rights of individuals, as it brings the foundation of the power institution property, ie, life, freedom and property of citizens, characteristic of modern individualism and the political liberalism of Locke.
