Resumen
This article critically examines how Francesco Fattorello's concept of acculturation—understood as the sociocultural filter through which individuals interpret messages—is reconfigured in algorithmic communication ecosystems. Fattorello's theory emphasizes the centrality of the active receiver, the inevitable subjectivity of information, and the network structure of communication, anticipating contemporary digital dynamics. However, algorithmic filter bubbles pose a fundamental challenge: they do not eliminate interpretive agency, but rather isolate and impoverish it, replacing conscious, authentic filters with opaque, automated selections designed to maximize commercial engagement.
