Las RS son definiciones compartidas socialmente que constituyen una visión consensuada de la realidad. Presentan tres características: carácter productor-reproductor del conocimiento en la vida cotidiana; naturaleza social del conocimiento a partir de la interacción/comunicación; el lenguaje y la comunicación por medio de los cuales esa realidad se crea, transmite y adquiere sentido. Presentan dos movimientos complementarios: a) objetivación: refiere a la constitución formal de un conocimiento, b) anclaje: en que los elementos objetivados se integran a nuestros esquemas de pensamiento. El objetivo central del trabajo es caracterizar las representaciones de cuidado en jóvenes de educación formal y no formal, y; explorar las relaciones entre la representación de cuidado y alteridad en el ámbito de la educación formal y no formal. Se trabajó sobre un estudio descriptivo exploratorio y cualitativo. Los primeros resultados arrojan que las prácticas de cuidado se identifican con sensaciones afectivas brindadas por otro. El cuidado está asociado a: la posibilidad de anticipar-se, pensar a futuro relacionado a la conservación de la vida; la posición de un otro en situación relacional; las concepciones de salud e higiene; y también se mencionan la familia, la escuela y otros espacios en los que aprendieron a cuidarse. Palabras clave Representaciones sociales Cuidado Educación ABSTRACT REPRESENTATIONS CARE Summary: The social representations are definitions shared socially that constitute an agreed by consensus vision of reality. They present three characteristics: character producer - breeding animal of the knowledge in the daily life; social nature of the knowledge from the interaction / communication; the language and the communication by means of which this reality is created, transmits and acquires sense. They present two complementary movements: a) objetivación: it recounts to the formal constitution of a knowledge, b) anchorage: that the targeted elements join to our schemes of thought. The main objective of the research is to characterize the representations of care in youths of formal and not formal education, and; to explore the relationships between the representation of care in the area of the formal and not formal education. The research consisted of a descriptive, exploratory and qualitative study. The primary results showed that the practices of care are identified by affective sensations offered by another person. The care is associated with: the possibility to anticipate, thinking ahead in relation to life preservation; the position of another person in relational situation; the conceptions of health and hygiene; and also there are mentioned the family, the school and other spaces in those who learned to look after.
