El presente trabajo se enmarca en la importancia de la amistad como una de las manifestaciones de la relación de pares más importante,el autoconcepto en sus diversas dimensiones y la autoestima, todas variables fundamentales para el buen desarrollo psicosocial en la edad escolar. El objetivo es evaluar la relación entre la calidad de la amistad y el autoconcepto y la autoestima en niños de edad escolar. Se hallaron correlaciones negativas significativas entre balance y competencia escolar, competencia deportiva y comportamiento moral; entre comportamiento moral y conflicto, así como entre autoestima global y conflicto. Se hallaron correlaciones positivas significativas entre competencia social y compañerismo y seguridad; entre comportamiento moral y compañerismo así como también entre comportamiento moral y seguridad. En las conclusiones se ensaya una explicación de los resultados, afirmando la elevada relación de las variables amistad y autoconcepto y autoestima. Palabras clave Amistad, Autoconcepto, Autoestima, Niñez escolar ABSTRACT FRIENDSHIP QUALITY AND SELF-EVALUATION IN SCHOOL CHILDREN This paper is based on the importance of friendship as one of the manifestations most significant of the peer relationship, self-concept in its various dimensions and self-esteem, all these variables for the good psychosocial development in school age.The objective is to evaluate the relationship between friendship quality and selfconcept and self-esteem in children of school age. Significant negative correlations were found between balance and school competence, sports competence and moral behavioral conduct; between moral behavioral conduct and conflict, and between global self-esteem and conflict. Significant positive correlations were found between social competence and companionship and security; between moral behavioral conduct and companionship as well as between moral behavioral conduct and safety. In the conclusion is showed an explanation of the results. It ratified the high correlations between friendship and self-concept and self-esteem.
