El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar los resultados obtenidos en un estudio realizado sobre los diferentes Estilos del Humor y su posible relación con síntomas psicopatológicos en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes residentes en la ciudad de Buenos Aires y conurbano (N=860 ). Se utilizó la Escala sobre el Sentido del Humor (Casullo, 2004) y el listado de síntomas SCL90-R (Derogatis, 1994) para evaluar síntomas psicopatológicos. Los resultados indican que no existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en los tipos de humor, según sexo. Existen diferencias en los tipos de Humor Afiliativo y Agresivo, según la edad. Se encontraron asociaciones positivas, estadísticamente significativas, entre el tipo de Humor Agresivo y la Hostilidad, entre el tipo Descalificación Personal y Psicoticismo, Índice de Severidad Global e Ideación Paranoide y una asociación negativa entre el tipo de Humor Mejoramiento Personal y Depresión. Palabras Clave Sentido del Humor, Psicopatología Abstract EVALUATION OF THE STYLES OF HUMOR AND ITS RELATION WITH PRESENT PSYCHOPATHOLOGY SYMPTOMS The present study shows the results obtained from the possible relations between the different Humor Styles and the presence of psychopathology symptoms on adolescents and young adults living in Buenos Aires city and its suburban area (N=860). The Sense of Humor Scale (Casullo, 2004) and The Symptom Checklist-90-R (Derogatis, 1994) were used. The first, to evaluate the different humor styles. The second, to evaluate psychopathology symptoms. Results indicate that there are no significant differences in the humor styles when de gender is involved. There are significant differences in the Afiliative and the Aggressive Humor Style when age is implicated. Furthermore, there are significant positive correlations between Aggressive Humor Style and Hostility, between Personal Withdrawal Humor Style and Psychoticism, Global Symptom Severity and Paranoid Ideation and also significant negative correlations between Personal Improvement Humor Style and Depression.
