O objetivo desta pesquisa foi o de identificar, analisar e interpretar Representações Sociais, elaboradas por jovens alunos, sobre o futuro e sobre o tipo de conhecimentos importantes para “vencer na vida”, além disso, trabalhamos com as Representações sociais sobre a escola e sobre o professor “ideal”. Foram aplicadas Prova de Língua Portuguesa e Teste de Habilidades de Vida em 741 alunos de 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental. Para o recorte desta pesquisa com Representações Sociais foram selecionados 85 alunos que obtiveram os melhores resultados nas provas e testes. As representações sociais elaboradas pelos alunos, no que se refere ao futuro a maioria declara estar preparada para ele e que este será melhor que o presente. Quanto ao tipo de conhecimentos que são importantes para “vencer na vida” 50% indicaram aspectos relativos a elementos afetivo-emocionais ou místicos. Com relação à escola 65% afirmam que ela é necessária para ter um futuro melhor. Dentre os participantes, 70% destacam que o professor ideal é aquele que compreende os seus problemas.
