Se presenta el proyecto de investigación comenzado a mediados de 2006, “Modalidades actuales del envejecer y proyectos de vida” , que aún está en etapa de recolección de datos. Partiendo de un marco teórico que revisa los aportes actuales sobre envejecimiento, esta investigación aspira a: identificar las características de los proyectos de vida; los referentes que los sustentan; las elecciones más frecuentes; reconocer los modos de su realización y contrastar con los datos surgidos entre envejecentes argentinos y los inmigrantes españoles. La metodología propuesta es mixta, apelando al relato de vida para la recolección de datos. Se señala el papel preponderante del instrumento metodológico como herramienta de investigación pero también como posibilidad que el encuentro intersubjetivo (entrevistado e investigador), abre para reflexionar sobre significaciones presentes y / o latentes o novedosas como efecto del proceso. El relato sobre la propia vida, constituye un texto vivo, interpretativo, enunciado por un sujeto que apela a su memoria para referirse al tiempo pasado, en simultáneo lo subjetiva dando significación y valoración, por lo que resulta la herramienta que lo conduce a la formulación de sus planes futuros. Palabras clave Historización Proyecto Identidad narrativa ABSTRACT CURRENT MODES OF AGING AND LIFE PROJECT We present the research project we began in mid-2006, “Current modes of aging and life project,” which is still in the stage of data collection. Based on a theoretical framework that reviews the recent contributions to the study of aging, this research attempts to: identify characteristics of life projects, the role models that support them, and the most frequent choices, uncover the manners in which the life projects get fulfilled and contrast using data the cases of aging Argentineans and immigrants from Spain. The methodology proposed is a appealing to the recount of the life story as a form of collecting data. We stress the central role play by the methodological instrument not only as a tool of research but also in terms of the possibility that inter subjective encounter (interviewer and interviewee) opens for thinking about actual and/or latent o novel significations as a result of the process. The telling of the story of one owns life is a live text, an interpretation, expressed by a subject that appeals to his or her memory to refer back to past times, while simultaneously subjectively providing signification and value, and hence, becoming the tool that allows the subject to formulate plans about his or her future.
