Noise driven excitable systems present a dynamics which consists of a complex sequence of pulses. In thiswork we analyze their interspike time distribution, and we find that the organization of the invariant manifoldsof the underlying excitable system leaves its fingerprints in it. We derive approximate analytical expressionsfor the interspike time distribution.
