Milton Henrique ARRIETA-LÓPEZ

I am an educator and consultant on human rights, civil law, and international relations, with a career spanning over twenty years in legal practice and seven years in university teaching, supported by a diversified academic background. I graduated in Law from the Universidad del Norte, specialized in Private Economic Law from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and hold two master's degrees: one in Business Administration from Universidad Camilo José Cela in conjunction with the Instituto Madrileño de Formación, and another in Human Rights, Democracy, and Globalization from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Currently, I am completing my Ph.D. in Social and Legal Sciences at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.

In the academic field, I have taught classes for more than a decade. I am currently a Lecturer for the Passport lecture series (international relations and political affairs) at Oakton College, Illinois, USA. Before that, I served as Editorial Coordinator for the scientific journal JURÍDICAS CUC and as Director of the Center for Socio-Legal and Political Research at the Universidad de la Costa.

My research career spans more than 10 years, during which I have developed projects that have resulted in the publication of books, book chapters, and articles in recognized journals indexed in WOS and SCOPUS. My research interests include human rights, democracy, and alternative dispute resolution methods, among others. I have participated as a speaker at several scientific events and have supervised more than forty theses as a tutor and co-tutor.

In professional practice, my experience includes the management and coordination of legal departments in two multinational companies and commercial enterprises. I currently offer services as a Senior Legal Consultant in human rights, civil rights, and commercial law, backed by more than 30 technical-scientific consultancies certified by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MinCiencias) of the Republic of Colombia.

I have continued my education with various postgraduate studies, diplomas, and courses at different universities in America and Europe to stay updated in the fields of law, economics, political science, and international business. My skills include strong critical analysis, effective leadership, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent interpersonal skills, always committed to ethics and professional excellence.

I am currently categorized as an Associate Researcher recognized by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Republic of Colombia.
